Wedding Gown Sleeve Glossary
Are you confused by some of the terms used to describe wedding gown sleeves, our wedding gown sleeve glossary is here to help
- Long Sleeves:
- These are full length sleeves that come down to the top of your wrist. They give you maximum coverage on your arms
- Bell Sleeves:
- These are sleeves that come down to the wrist or beyond the wrist. However they flare out into a bell shape. These sleeves are very often on renaissance style wedding dresses
- Three Quarter Length Sleeve:
- This is the most classic of all sleeve designs ending about halfway between your wrists and elbow.
- T-Shirt Sleeve:
- A t-shirt sleeve is exactly what it sounds like. The length of the sleeve will come down to just above you elbow. If you’re upper arms aren’t in the best shape or if you simply want to be a little more modest this is a good option to choose.
- Cap Sleeve:
- These sleeves are shorter and more round than a t-shirt sleeve. They will end usually about mid bicep, so your arms should be in pretty good shape if you want to wear this style.
- Off the Shoulder Sleeves:
- These sleeves leave the shoulders bare but run three quarters of the way down the forearm or down all the way to the wrist. You are placing the emphasis on your shoulders and décolletage and works well for women with medium to large bust sizes.
- Spaghetti Straps:
- These are two thin straps that rest on the shoulders leaving your arms completely bare. If you’ve been exercising regularly and are in good shape this is the best way to show it off.
