Bridal Lingerie for your Wedding Night

Once your wedding and reception are over you’ll be looking forward to spending some quality alone time with your new husband. Why not take this opportunity to give him a special thank you for looking through all of those wedding invitations. For men lingerie is like gift wrapping they can’t wait to get to what’s inside. Here is a glossary of some lingerie items you’re likely to find when you are out shopping.

Baby-Doll
A baby doll is a large category of two piece sets or robes. They have a top like an empire bodice that ends just below the bust line. It flares out and is very short ending just below your rear. They come in a wide variety of fabrics from lace to satin, and have many choices for bottoms.

Chemise
A chemise is a short flowing A-Line gown (longer than a baby-doll). It usually has straps or a halter top. The lower portion flares out slightly and ends upper to middle thigh. A great thing about a chemise is they will make you look curvier as many of them have some form of tummy control. For modest brides choose a silk or satin fabric, more daring brides can chose lace or mesh.

Camisole
A camisole is the feminine version of an undershirt. It is a soft loose fitting top usually with spaghetti straps or thin straps. They usually come with matching bottom and in variety of colors and fabrics. Some camisoles are even acceptable to wear outside of the bedroom.

Corset

A corset is the exact opposite of a camisole. It’s a structured garment that is very form fitting. It comes with boning or ribbing that forces your body into certain proportions. While the effect is very dramatic and alluring it’s not the most comfortable item of clothing to wear. Take comfort in the fact it’s much easier to take off than put on.

Bridal Set
A bridal set or as it is traditionally known as a merry widow is still the most popular piece of bridal lingerie. It is usually a three piece set with a camisole or corset top, bikini briefs, garter belt and stockings. If you are looking for a way to kick it up a notch try pairing this with a pair of pumps or bedroom heels. The most popular color choice is still white.

Boy Shorts
If you never seen boy shorts think hot pants for the bedroom. They give some coverage but not full coverage of your rear. You can find some styles which aren’t form fitting but most are figure hugging. This isn’t entirely bad as they do give some figure shaping. If you’d like to spice things up look for styles with lace edging, they give coverage and are still very alluring.

Thong

At this stage it’s hard to imagine anyone who doesn’t know what a thong is. They have thin sides about ¾ of an inch wide and have a t-shaped rear with almost no coverage of your rear. When selecting a thong try to find something of lycra, micro fiber, or cotton for the most comfort.

G-String
A G-String is even skimpier than a thong. Where a thong has a wider t shaped rear a g-string has a single narrow strip. It offers absolutely no coverage to your rear.
